Trust & safety

Why should I trust you?

Handing a wallet to an internet stranger requires trust, so don't take my word for it — verify:

  • A legal contract. Every job is bound by a written agreement with Veksler Consulting LLC (Colorado ID #20218030311) — a US company you could sue in a Colorado court. My identity is public, so I'm the one on the hook.
  • A public reputation since 2013. Google "David Veksler" — talks, writing, and press.
  • In-person recovery. Meet me in Denver and, where practical, we attempt the recovery together on your own equipment.
  • No payment until success. You don't pay a cent until your funds are recovered.
Will you keep my coins and information confidential?

When a recovery requires temporary handling, recovered funds are held on a hardware wallet until they're returned to you. Confidentiality is covered by the contract, and your data is deleted after the case closes.

Can you see my wallet's balance before I commit?

Not unless you tell me. The free assessment is about what material you still have — the wallet type, the device, the password clues, how the seed was written down — not about how much is in there. If you do share an address, remember it was already public on the blockchain to anyone who had it.

The balance matters at one point only: the fee is a percentage of what's recovered, so the tier is fixed in the contract before any work starts. See the fee schedule.

Why should I trust you over an Instagram or Telegram recovery expert?

Compare us on facts you can check rather than promises:

  • They contacted you; I didn't. I never message anyone first. A stranger appearing in your DMs or replies after you posted about losing crypto is running a script.
  • They want money upfront. I don't take a cent until your coins are back under your control.
  • They're anonymous. I'm a named person at a registered Colorado LLC with a physical Denver office you can walk into.
  • They promise anything. I tell people no, for free, every week — here is exactly what I can't do.

More on the tells: how to tell a legit recovery service from a scam.

How do I know a message from you is really from you?

All legitimate communication comes from [email protected] or +1 214-659-1775, and can be verified against my published PGP key. I never contact anyone first — if someone messaged you claiming to be me or this company, from any other channel, it's an impersonator.

Cost

What does it cost?

20% of the recovered amount under 10 BTC, 15% from 10 to 100 BTC, and 10% above that — based on the value of the coins at the time of recovery. The assessment is free and there are no upfront fees of any kind. Full fee schedule.

When do I pay?

After your crypto is back under your control. The fee is deducted when recovered funds are returned to your new address — never before.

Process

How does the recovery actually work?

Assessment → contract → secure transfer of your material (encrypted channel, tracked shipping, or in person) → recovery on my own hardware → funds returned to your fresh address → your data destroyed. The five steps in detail, or read how a wallet recovery service works.

How fast will I hear back?

You'll get a reply within a few hours with an assessment and next steps. Higher-probability recoveries can often be completed within 24–48 hours, depending on the material and case.

What happens after you recover my wallet?

You give me a fresh address you control and receive your funds minus the fee. I'll also help you set up safer storage and a proper seed backup, so this doesn't happen twice.

What happens to my data if the recovery fails?

The same thing that happens when it succeeds: case data is deleted, and physical media is returned to you or destroyed — your choice, agreed in the contract before you send anything. And you owe nothing. A failed recovery costs you shipping and nothing else.

Wondering how likely your specific situation is to work out? Here is my scenario-by-scenario read: what are the odds of recovering your crypto wallet?

My Bitcoin was stolen. Can you help?
⚠️ If your coins were stolen and already transferred out, nobody can recover them — anyone who claims otherwise is running a scam on theft victims.

What I can sometimes do: rescue assets still sitting in a compromised wallet (NFTs, staked tokens, dust the thief left) before their sweeper bot takes them. Read the full explanation.

Special cases

I sent coins to the wrong chain (BSC ↔ Ethereum).

If you control the private key of the destination wallet, recovery may be possible. If you sent to an exchange address (Coinbase, BitPay…), only that exchange can help — here are their support links.

Can you help with my Coinbase / Gemini / Crypto.com account?

No — I recover wallets you control, not exchange accounts. Only the exchange itself can restore an account lockout. Here are their support links.
